I acknowledge that at this point in time I am more abundant than 97% of the world, but I don’t necessarily feel that way emotionally all of the time. This is a monthly exercise geared toward shifting my mindset into realizing how incredibly grateful I am for the current state of affairs. I’ve done it once before, when I explained what I am doing and why.
I am very fortunate to be living a life of my own design, and I love that about my life every single day. I appreciate it constantly. The trade offs are 100% worth it. It took courage to do something no one else I knew had done, but I am proud and glad to have done so, even if it was scary at the time to do make huge sweeping life changes just based on stuff I read on the internet.
Peter Singer indicates I should give $16 away this month.
I am rounding up to $21 and giving to the ASPCA via credit card (I am funneling all spending onto one credit card to meet a sign up bonus requirement for the next 2 months.) I am a firm believer in treating our animal friends with dignity, and helping those who work in that area both experientially as well as legally acknowledging this important value in our society. For 150 years, the ASPCA has worked tirelessly to put an end to animal abuse and neglect. They are a national leader in the areas of rescue, adoption and welfare.
Yay Charity! 🙂
