If ICU Patients Can and Do Exercise, You Can Too

Was putzing around on social media this morning and came across this article on how ICU patients who cycle from their beds, even early in their stay, do much better than those who don’t, and those who don’t experience rapid decay of their muscle tone within as few as 7 days into their hospital stay. Some results noted were up to 18% loss in muscle tone in just ten days, and also the patients who exercised had FOUR TIMES more strength than those who didn’t.

These aren’t minor results or findings, ladies and gents.

Furthermore, of the patients asked to participate in the study, over 90% agreed to.

If 90% of ICU patients are willing to exercise, and get awesome results doing so, you’re officially out of excuses. 🙂

I’m off to the gym! What are you going to do to be active today?

Go get em,
Kasia
