Pretty much everyone I know uses an alarm clock or cell phone to wake up on time.
You can use this time/device in your life to double dip and remind yourself what really matters to you.
How about recording a quick 10-second sound bite, and setting that as an alarm tone, instead of whatever you have going now?
As an example – instead of hearing “BLARG BLARG BLARG” every morning – you could hear the voice of yourself saying something motivating like:
“Yesterday you said Tomorrow – Tomorrow is Today.”
“Every day and in every way I get better and better.”
“This day won’t ever happen again – make the most of it.”
“It’s about where you’re going no matter where you’ve been.”
It could be goal focused.
“I will stick to my plan for [my goal] today.”
“[My goal] is my top priority today.”
“I will avoid temptation to stray from [my goal].”
It could be a mood setter.
“Today is a perfect day for a perfect day.”
“Don’t worry be happy.”
Or an inside joke or other funny bit that just makes you smile every time such as… “I’m not saying I’m Wonder Woman…I’m just saying no one has ever seen me and Wonder Woman in the same room.” 🙂
This tip is not limited to morning alarms. Set one for whenever you need a boost. I have a daily one at noon that reminds me that the whole point of everything I do is to feel good for it. It’s nice. 🙂 I also tend to wake up to a clip of “Let’s Go” by Calvin Harris feat. Ne-Yo which I’ve come to really appreciate! 🙂
What reminders will you set?
